The Ngong Hills

Since Nathan has the week off, we're trying to find some fun, inexpensive things to do. We decided to try to get a group together to go up on the Ngong Hills.
We got a big group of missionaries together and headed up yesterday morning for a picnic.
There were about 27 of us in all in 7 cars with several weapons and 2 dogs. The Ngong Hills are known for not being a very safe area if you don't have a large group.
It was very very windy on the first hill we stopped at. But what a great place for a family photo!
We walked up the first hill and then decided to bring the cars on up. Supposedly it was a bit less windy the higher up you go.
Some of us decided to walk up the next hill, but then got a ride when the cars reached us.
We finally found a good spot for our picnic. Out of the worst of the wind.
All of us sitting down to eat.
The view from our picnic spot.
 Our picnic.
Ruth and Julie. Ruth loves playing with Julie.
 My sweet boy.
After lunch a group decided to hike to the top of the highest hill. We walked up just far enough to see them since they got a head start on us. We decided we would not be walking that far with our littles.
Everybody following Daddy back to the picnic spot.
You can see Nairobi way in the background.
On the way back down the mountain, there was a big bare patch of dirt. You can kind of see the dirt in the top right corner of the picture. We were the 3rd or 4th car in line and some of the others decided to do donuts. Well, guess what? We had to do donuts, too. We did awesome donuts and popped a tire off the rim! Here's Nathan changing the tire with everyone else standing around watching.

We really had a great time being outside and seeing the beauty of our Lord's creation. We can home tired and sunburned, but we had a blast!
