Nathan decided the other day, he wanted some peppermint bark. Ha. John and I found candy canes in the store, but they were $5 for o.n.e. box! I started thinking about it and trying to figure out a way we could make it for less with Kenyan things. Thursday afternoon, I sent Nathan out to the duka for Cadbury chocolates and African mints.
We melted the Cadbury chocolate, let it harden for a couple days. Which you really don't have to do. I just didn't have time to finish it between now and then. Tonight, I melted some white chocolate bark we brought back with us in January and then Nathan sprinkled on the African mints he had crushed with a hammer.
We refrigerated it for a bit. And what do you know, you can make peppermint bark in Kenya!
