Wow, can it already have been a month since we received our referral?! Today marks one month of knowing who our little boy will be. We've look at his picture hundreds of times. Prayed for him every night. Named him. Showed off his picture to our fellow missionaries and friends here in Nairobi. And waited some more. We did learn today that our case has been submitted to request a court date. So that's great news! It was submitted last Thursday. We're already one week into the waiting and didn't even know it. :) That's kind of cool. After your case has been submitted, it takes 2-3 weeks to get a court date. The court dates they are assigning are typically 2-3 months
after you request one. Whew. I don't think the waiting ever ends! But it gets even better. Once we receive the court date, Nathan and I will travel to Ethiopia when our court date arrives. We are there for a week or so. We meet our son, site see around Ethiopia, go to court, agree to be parents to Ezra, and then we leave him! We come back to Kenya and once again wait. For an Embassy appointment. Which are typically 6-12 weeks after the court date! Can you imagine leaving your child? I'm know the Lord will see us through it, but it's going to be hard!!
So, that's what our process looks like at this point. We're looking at Ezra being in our care sometime in June, July, August, or September. After that, we're not really sure how things are going to work out. Would you pray with us about how we should handle getting Ezra back to the US, applying for readoption, getting our home assignment in there somewhere, and taking care of Dinah, John, and Ruth?
