It seems the media hyped things up a bit and got everyone all excited. Nothing new there, huh? To make things simple, there is a group that writes a letter to approve each adoption case. This letter is a prerequisite to passing court. The group that writes these letters has said that they want to tremendously cut back on their letter writing to use their resources elsewhere. The decision has not been made final and there are a lot people fighting against the decision. The whole thing really stems from an effort to stop irregularities in intercountry adoption and how to achieve that.
What this means for us...
We wait. Ha! What's new?
We pray. For God's will to be done. For the courts and officials making this decision. For the children. For our first court date on Friday. Yes, it's still on.
We travel on March 25 to meet our son and go to our second court date on March 29. And we pray somehow, someway our letter of approval for our adoption is there, and our adoption can proceed.
Please consider signing the petition from the Joint Council Emergency Campaign for the children of Ethiopia, to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Meles Zenawi! Please??
Nathan and/or Candace,
ReplyDeleteWhen I click on the link it brings up a blank e-mail page that does include what appears to be a correct e-mail address for the petition, but I'm not sure what to type in the subject and body of the message. Maybe you could help us all here? Because Pops is having this problem too :)
Thanks,
Little Bro
Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about 100 years old and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. Rom 4:19-21.
ReplyDelete(Hi Candace, i see loads of facts and dead hope too in those articles ..., but I am standing with you by faith-for faith is the language of God)
