New Requirements

An adoption is definitely not a journey for the faint of heart. When we started the process to adopt, they said things change and laws change and requirements change. I guess we didn't think too much about it at the time. We were so focused on what the Lord had asked us to do, I don't think anyone could have changed our minds. Mind you, we're not changing our minds now. We are still jumping through whatever hoop they say to jump through. And we are working our hardest to be able to get our son ASAP!

On Friday, we received our weekly adoption update from CWA. They had just gotten word from the US Embassy in Addis that cases submitted after Monday, April 25, they will need several things before they will process adoption cases. There are now 3 things they want before the Embassy appointment instead of the original "bring it to the appointment." We have taken care of the 2 easy ones. Now we have to have a document notarized. Yeah. The US Embassy is the only place you can have things notarized when you are outside of the US. And they like to charge a lot for one notarization! But honestly at this point, I think we would pay whatever they told us! Not only do you have to go to the Embassy for the notarization, you now have to have an appointment! And appointments are booked until May 4!! Nathan is working his hardest today to try to get us in before May 4.

Would you join us in praying that our case can get submitted before April 25? That would really solve a lot of our issues! That means by the end of next week, our case would be submitted to the US Embassy in Addis. Ultimately, that's about 3.5 weeks since we passed our court date and they say 4-5 weeks. But we serve a mighty powerful God!

    We're praying for Ezra to be brought home safely too.
